John is Protected Investors of America’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, equity and bond trading specialist and an Investment Portfolio Manager. His clients include: individuals, foundations, businesses, municipalities and retirement plans. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco. In 2005 John received the Churchill C. Peters Award for “Excellence in Financial Services”. His licenses include: General Securities Representative (7), Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination (63), Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination (65), General Securities Principal (24), Registered Options Principal (4), Financial and Operations Principal (28). Prior to his affiliation with PIA, John was a Registered Representative at Kirkpatrick Pettis Smith Polian, Inc., in Lincoln, Nebraska and has been an investment manager since 1982.
He was born in North Platte, Nebraska and raised in Lincoln. He lives in Petaluma and is married to Angela. They have two children, Heather and Jeffrey and three grandchildren, Kimberly, Trenton and Nicholas. His interests outside of investing are; writing, analog and digital audio electronics, music, movies, food and wine.
